Generally speaking, the higher the altitude that a coffee is grown, the better it is. The nice people at Eight O’Clock say the beans that built this blend came up in the rich volcanic soils of Colombia’s high mountains — which we think is probably true.

They also say that these beans have been “harvested at their optimum ripeness,” to which we reply, “well duh.” And we can only hope that the rest of their description that includes, “winey notes,” “rich, elegant aroma” and “full-bodied” are referring to this coffee and not one of their mothers-in-law.
